چکیده

Subsurface waters circulating in an unpolluted soil of a planosolic horizon (Massif Central, France) were studied in order to determine their physico-chemical characteristics. Three water sampling sites were chosen along a toposequence according to topography. For each site, two piezometers were placed above and in the gravely and concretion-rich horizon (Feand Mnoxyhydroxides). Concentrations of major-, minor(cations, anions, iron, manganese, phosphorus, silica) and trace elements (Al, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn, U) were monitored on bulk and filtered water (0.45 μm) to study both the particulate and the dissolved components, from 2004 to 2006, during the soil saturation period (i.e. from November to May). Chemical characteristics of soil solutions provide evidence for various chemical water compositions and for time variations of the water quality, pointing out that the hydrodynamic and chemical reactivity in the solution is different for the three sites. Calculations of pe values allow to give an information about a range of the redox state of soil solutions. The pe ranges are different for each piezometer but correspond to anoxic solution. For all piezometers, distribution between the dissolved and the particulate fraction and correlations between the various elements in the soil solutions indicate that: (i) Al and Fe show similar behaviour, (ii) Al is mainly present as oxyhydroxides and (iii) some trace metals are mainly associated with particles which * Corresponding author E-mail address: [email protected] (A. East of Shahindezh (south of West Azarbaidjan province), as a part of Irano-Himalayan karst bauxite belt, comprises discontinuous layers and lenses of bauxite, laterite, and kaolin within the Ruteh carbonate formation (Middle- Upper Permian). The XRD analyses show that the lateritic ores have rather simple mineralogy, and consist of hematite, boehmite, and kaolinite as major phases accompanied ...

Mineralogy and trace elements geochemistry of the RoudMajan kaolin deposit, northwest of Torbat-e Heydarieh, NE Iran

The RoudMajan kaolin deposit is located about 35 km northwest of Torbat-e- Heydarieh city, Khorasan Razavi Province, in the Great Kavir Block subzone. Field evidence and laboratories results indicate that this deposit is genetically associated with the alteration of basaltic andesite rocks (Lower Eocene). According to the microscopic evidence and various analytical techniques (XRD, SEM-EDS, FE-...

Biglar Permo-Triassic bauxite deposit is located in ~15 km northwest of Abgarm, southwest of Ghazvin province, west of central Iran. It consists of 8 stratiform and discontinuous bauxite lenses lying along the contact of Ruteh (Permian) and Elika (Triassic) carbonate formations. Petrographically, the bauxite ores exhibit collomorphic-fluidal, pseudo-breccia, pseudo-porphyritic, panidio-morphic-...

Mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of the Siahrudbar bauxite deposit, Golestan Province, north of Iran

The Siahrudbar deposit is located about 25 km southwest of Aliabad-Katool city in the Golestan Province, north of Iran. This deposit lies between the Triassic limestone (Elika Formation) and Jurassic sandstone (Shemshak Formation). Mineralogical studies indicate the presence of major minerals such as diaspore, hematite, anatase, kaolinite, and chamosite accompanied by minor minerals such as boe...

Geologic and pedologic controls are the main factors determining the behavior of elements in natural soil environments. In order to assess the role of these factors on content and distribution of selected major and trace elements in soil, six parent materials including: phyllite, tonalite, periditite, dolerite, shale and limestone were selected in Fuman-Masule region. Soil genesis and developme...
